Improving Performance and Lowering Cost for Commercial and Large Residential Piping Systems - Why Beta PP-RCT is the most rapidly growing material in North America.  Why composite piping construction is a game changer for the behavior of a plastic pipe. Standards, Plumbing and Mechanical Code Considerations.  Design and layout differences compared to metal pipes.  Installation categories and examples.  What are the roles and responsibilities of specifiers/designers and contractors.  Installation examples.

speaker

Christopher G. Ziu, P.E. has over 40 years of experience of experience in piping engineering, with extensive concentration with plastics materials.  His background includes experience with pressure piping for commercial, process and research applications, as well as for waste systems and plumbing oriented applications of the products.
He was the inventor and developer of more than 22 patents, including the first commercially available plastic dual containment system, which he developed in 1986.  He went on to develop several additional commercially successful systems.  He has been involved in some level of discussion, design and installation of more than one thousand dual containment systems.
He has served as the V.P. of Engineering for Asahi/America and Orion Fittings.    He is the author of two McGraw-Hill handbooks, the 995 page “Double-Walled Piping Handbook”, published in April of 2019, and the 896 page “Handbook of Double Containment Piping Systems”, published in 1995, as well aso the author of the Chapter on Dual Containment Piping in McGraw-Hill’s “Piping Handbook”.  He has lectured on the subject of Dual Containment and Thermoplastic Piping Design on more than one hundred occasions, including more than sixty full day and multi-day seminars on these subjects.  He was a voting member of the ASME B31.3 Process Piping Code Committee for twenty four years and is currently a voting member of ASTM F17 and E05 Committees.
